On behalf of Salt Lake Community College and the school districts of the Wasatch Front South Region, I would like to invite you to participate in an expanded advisory opportunity. As many of you are aware, Salt Lake Community College and several of the school districts along the Wasatch Front have been operating independent of one another when it comes to seeking advisory input from local construction trades partners. This practice has resulted in many of you sitting on multiple advisory boards in your efforts to support the local education programs. As education partners, we have determined this to be an unnecessary duplication of efforts and would like to remedy the situation in honor of the time being requested from our industry partners. Effective immediately, there will be a single construction trades advisory committee to serve the educational needs of the entire Wasatch Front South Region. These advisory meetings will be held at the Association of General Contractors (AGC) headquarters, located at 2207 South 1070 West Salt Lake City, Utah, and will be chaired by Joey Gilbert. The first meeting is scheduled to take place January 21st from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., and we would love to have your participation. Subsequent meetings are being planned for September 9, 2026, January 13, 2027, and April 21, 2027. Please save these dates on your calendar and plan to join us. If there are other members of the construction trades community who may be interested in participating with this committee, please feel free to share this invitation. Alan Hall UVU Marketing and Sales Invitational for High School Business Students.
Before you head out for a well-earned summer break, please put this competition event on your business club calendar for the Fall. We invite you to bring your students to UVU for our annual business competition. Advisors and students report this is always a highlight of their school year. Use this as a recruiting incentive for your clubs early on for the next school year. This is the perfect opportunity to get your students excited about business and to practice their competition skills against the top local high school marketing students from around the state. It’s a great field day out on UVU campus with a catered lunch provided.
You are again invited to join UVU’s Marketing Department and our competition sponsors in a celebration of the study of business and marketing with a day of fun marketing competitions designed for high school business students.
· Who: High school FBLA students, high school students taking business classes, or any students interested in studying business are invited.
· What: Marketing Case and presentation competition for high school students
· When: Friday October 9, 2026, 9am -1:30pm
· Where: Keller Business Building at UVU Orem Campus
· Why: Gain valuable marketing and presentation experience with a real-world case with our partners. Win money and lots of cool prizes. Learn about UVU’s marketing and other business majors and about careers in marketing.
The competition will run on a Friday from 9:00am to 1:30pm and will be totally free for your students. We will provide a continental breakfast at 830am, and a catered lunch on the 4th floor of our new Keller Business building from 11:00am to 1:00pm, and will end the event with the awards ceremony from 1:00pm to 1:30pm.

We're excited to announce that the USU Aggie Invite will be held on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 on the USU Logan Campus from 8:30 am - 4:00 pm. As in previous years, we'll be hosting a combined DECA and FBLA event.
We know this date falls during Jordan School District's fall break. As we evaluated options, we took into account school district calendars, USU space availability, and several other logistical factors, and October 20 was the date that worked best overall.
We'll be finalizing details over the summer and will keep you both informed as plans come together. In the meantime, would you be willing to send a Save the Date to your advisors so they can get it on their fall calendars?

Salt Lake Community College invites you and your students to attend the 2026 Art & Media Workshop Day from 9 AM - 12 PM on Friday, November 6 at the SLCC South City Campus (1575 S. State Street ).
This annual event brings together students and SLCC faculty for exciting hands-on workshops covering a range of artistic and technical topics, including film, photography, fashion, television and radio production, theatre, music, animation, performing arts, digital media and more.
The workshops are open to all 9th-12th grade students that have instructor approval. A small registration fee will cover lunch and supplies - boxed lunches will be available after the event, so students can grab them as they leave or eat lunch on campus.

The first meeting is scheduled to take place January 21st from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., and we would love to have your participation.
