The Business and Finance Foundation Summer Conference will be held on June 8, 2026, at West Field High School. This one-day conference is designed to support educators by strengthening foundational knowledge and instructional strategies within business and finance programs, while aligning pathway expectations with industry and workforce needs. By bringing together pathway-focused content and collaborative learning opportunities, the conference provides a meaningful space for professional growth, networking, and shared best practices that directly support classroom instruction and student success.

This year we will be changing things up a bit by offering 3 different locations for the Summer Training. This training will be for Sewing/Fashion Pathway ONLY and will be the same at all three locations.

You only need to go to one of the training dates and locations. I hope this flexibility will allow you to plan your vacations and attend a training that is a little closer to home.

Course-Focused Collaboration for the 2026–2027 School Year
The K–12 Teaching as a Profession Summer Conference is a collaborative, course-specific professional learning experience designed to support educators teaching within the K–12 Teaching as a Profession pathway.
Participants will select ONE course to focus on for the full day:
Once selected, teachers will spend the entire day working alongside colleagues who teach the same course. This dedicated time will be used to:
This is an active working conference, not a sit-and-get experience. Teachers should come prepared to engage, collaborate, and contribute by sharing ideas, asking questions, and providing feedback that will help strengthen instruction statewide. The success of the day depends on participants being willing to both learn from others and offer their own expertise.
Whether you are new to the course or a seasoned instructor, this conference provides a valuable opportunity to collaborate with peers, align instruction, and leave with practical tools you can immediately apply in your classroom.

As many of you are aware, Salt Lake Community College and several of the school districts along the Wasatch Front have been operating independent of one another when it comes to seeking advisory input from local construction trades partners. This practice has resulted in many of you sitting on multiple advisory boards in your efforts to support the local education programs. As education partners, we have determined this to be an unnecessary duplication of efforts and would like to remedy the situation in honor of the time being requested from our industry partners. Effective immediately, there will be a single construction trades advisory committee to serve the educational needs of the entire Wasatch Front South Region. These advisory meetings will be held at the Association of General Contractors (AGC) headquarters, located at 2207 South 1070 West Salt Lake City, Utah, and will be chaired by Joey Gilbert. The first meeting is scheduled to take place January 21st from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., and we would love to have your participation. Subsequent meetings are being planned for September 9, 2026, January 13, 2027, and April 21, 2027. Please save these dates on your calendar and plan to join us.
